Vastu defects – Prashna,Omens, fire sacrifice

अशुभं भवेन्निमितं विकृतेवार्ग्नेः सशल्यं तत् ॥

Vastu related Prashna and results obtained from Lakshan

If at the time of query, the questioner scratches a particular part of the body, then the corresponding part of the vastu purusha will have some affliction or it would have been hurt. There would be defects in the corresponding section of vastupurusha.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

If at the time of offering oblations to forty-five deities at the sacrifice, a visible bad omen is observed in a particular direction (Like sneezing, black crow, spitting, cry of a baby etc), or unnatural behavior of the fire (like spark or crackles in a particular direction), then those particular limbs of the vastu-purusha are afflicted with the shalyas. (Like bones, nails, hairs etc).

How to Find out Salyas or Buried Skeletons in Vastu

salyas in vastu, salyaprakarana

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

What are Salyas: The word Salya comes from Sanskrit language and it means anything tormenting or causing pain. It also means bones.

Reasons behind effects of Salyas: Why, which is something that is buried underground is going to create a problem for the person who is going to live on that land.

Anything, which decomposes, below the ground causes the release of several poisonous gases and an active growth of parasites on its carcass. This in-turn causes problems for the inhabitants of the place in the form of diseases, mental afflictions etc.
However, apart from the above scientific dictum, there is a spiritual reason for the same as well. The dead or decomposed remains are not considered good because it is against the basic tenets of spiritual order. Anything filthy, dirty, or bad is avoided in spiritual matters. If we want to invite positivity in the abode, then the first thing is to remove all the negative elements from the land or site. This is the reason why removal of salyas is very important. It is like cleaning your house.

Moreover, nobody likes a dead body buried underground at the very place where they are living.

I have emphasized in many of my articles, that the knowledge of vastu is incomplete and unfruitful if one is not aware of the astrological calculations. Salyas require a complete knowledge of astrology and especially the esoteric and highly spiritual system of Prasna. (I am not referring to Tajik, which is not Vedic). Whenever, we say Prashna it means the highly spiritual Kerala Prashna system and not the other methods.

While Vastu in itself is a highly scientific branch, it is baseless to think that it is not related to Jyotisa. Contrary to the popular theory, one cannot learn actual vastu if he/she misses the learning of jyotisa.

Ayaprakaran, salyaprakarana, vargavarna, Ksetravarana, Gramarvaran, dikprakaran etc are difficult to comprehend without an active and advanced knowledge of jyotisa. The astayonis are related to astavargas which are a part of advance jyotisa. It will be very foolish to assume that vastu has nothing to do with Jyotisa.
Therefore, any person who claims to be a vastushastri and is devoid of an advance knowledge of jyotisa is actually befooling people.
Considering salya, one needs a knowledge of Salya mantra sastra for observing the problems at a site or he/she should be an expert of prashnam.

Based on Dootlakshanam, Omens and prashnam a skilled Prashna shastri can easily decipher the Salyas at a place.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Rules are taken from Karikas, Vasista Samhita, Vastu Raj Vallabha, Jyotisamhitarnava, Vishwakarma Prakash and Prasnamarg.

1. Sthira rashi in Uday indicates chance of finding bones at a site.

2. Char and Dual signs indicates doubts in finding bones at a site.

3. Chaturuthshuddi is important in Prasna chart for the examination of Salyas.

4. Malefics in Quadrants indicate presence of Gods, yakshas (Demi-Gods), Nagas and Pisacas (Ghosts) at a site. Depending on the type of Gruhas and nakshatra involved.

5. In Navgruha chakra, three things are been asked from the querist. On the basis of these three answers Salyas are determined for a place.

6. Vastu Raj vallabha gives us Grahvaran chakra. Based on this we can determine the Salyas. For example “A” varga and query word in relation indicate a human dead body below the ground.

7. Vasista Samhita and Vishwakarma Prakash uses Anga sprarsh for determining several kind of Salyas.

8. Karikas use incidents for determining Salyas. For example, if the owner of a house is suffering from a chronic disorder then Salyas are present in a certain direction in the house.

9. There is a nakshtrakoshatak chakra for finding out Salyas.

10. Jyotisahimtarnava mentions the use of asta akshar chakra for Salyas.

Salyodhara or removal of Salyas:

While determining the Salyas is a tedious task in itself and requires a thorough knowledge of Prasna the salyodhara requires a proper method for removal of Salyas.

Shodouphar poojan, navgruha invocation and Bali karma (Vaisnav Bali) is done for the removal of evil effects of Salyas.

How to worship Goddess laxmi, Kubera, Yamdeepak and Dhanvantri in Dhanteras on 17th october 2017 at home

As per wiki, Dhana Trayodashi (or Dhanteras or धनत्रयोदशी) is the first day of the Indian Diwali and Nepalese Tihar Festival. The festival is known as “Dhanatrayodashi” or “Dhanvantari Trayodashi”. It is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar month of Kartika month.

This day is also celebrated for Lord Dhanvantari (Deity who rules Ayurveda) and worshipped on the occasion of Trayodashi, usually, this day is called Dhanvantari Trayodashi. Dhanvantari is considered to be the teacher of all physicians and the originator of Ayurveda.

‘Dhan’ means wealth and ‘Teras’ refers to the thirteenth day of the moon cycle on the thirteenth day of Kartika Krishna Paksha. On this auspicious day, Goddess Laxmi, Lord Dhanvantri and Lord Kuber are worshipped in sthir Lagna at evening time. Traditionally it is considered as to be good in Hindus to buy gold and silver jewelry or utensils as they are karka for Vaibhav.

If we See background history from our Vedic Scriptures                   (Puranas), root of the Dhanteras belong from the Samudra Manthan, It is believed that on this day, Goddess Lakshmi emerged from the ocean along with other precious treasures and pieces of jewelry, during Churning of Ocean. According to the Bhagwat and Visnu Purana, Lord Dhanvantri also emerged from the sea with the pot of Amrit for distributing it to the Devtas. Lord Dhanvantri is another form of Lord Vishnu and also worshipped on this day along with Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber for the good health, wealth, and wellbeing.

Below are Detailed info on Dhanteras Puja Vidhi and Muharat :

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

17th October 2017 (Tuesday)

Dhanteras Puja Muhurta = 19:21 to 20:25

Duration = 1 Hour 4 Mins

Pradosh Kaal = 17:51 to 20:25
Vrishabha Kaal = 19:21 to 21:14
Trayodashi Tithi Starts = 00:26 on 17/Oct/2017
Trayodashi Tithi Ends = 00:08 on 18/Oct/2017

According to Drikpanchang, Lakshmi Poojan on Dhanteras should be done during Pradosh Kaal after sunset and approximately lasts for 2 hours and 24 minutes when Sthir Lagna (Fixed Signs) prevails, Sthir means fixed, not movable as in Sthira Lagna goddess Laxmi sits and stays in your home. Today Sthira Lagna will rise after 19:21 (Taurus Lagna), hence this time is the best for Dhanteras Pujan for Laxmi poojan.

But before that there we need to light 13 or 1 lamp in the house to keep away the evil and let the good light come in in the form of good health and wellbeing with Goddes Laxmi and Dhanvantri.Dhanteras has nothing to do with the wealth,  but It is more about the health and well being of the house, what happens when “Ashta Laxmi” comes in the house with lord Dhanvantri which brings good health, well being and overall happiness for the whole family members. ‘

It Has a deep story, as why we lit lamp on Dhanteras for Lord Yama;

” This is explained in the story of the prince and his new wife, which is said to have happened on this day centuries ago. The prince, his new wife and the serpent The 16-year-old son of King Hima was predicted to die on his fourth day of marriage – on Dhanteras – by snake bite.

But instead of dying, on that date his wife decided she would not let him go to sleep. She laid out all her ornaments as well as pots of gold and silver coins at the entrance to their bedroom and lit lots of lamps.

She told him stories and sang songs to keep him awake that night and when the God of Death, Yama, came disguised as a snake, he was so dazzled by the glittering precious metals and lights that he climbed on top of the coins and listened to the stories instead. By morning, rather than killing the prince, he slithered away silently because he had missed the chance. The prince was saved by his bride after she baffled the snake with her wealth.”

That’s why in Dhanteras first it involves worshipping of Lord Yama with Deep Daan on this day for the protection of one’s family members and loved ones. After worshipping Lord Yama one should Lit 13 earthen Lamps on the honor of Lord Yama in a southern direction with sesame oil outside the house in evening time in pradosh kaal.
Below are the Step by Step Process first from Lighting earthen lamp in evening time for Lord Yama Deepam Daan.

Step -1 – Worshipping of Lord Yama in Pardosh Kaal in evening

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Step 2 – Worshipping of Lord Dhanwantari

After lighting earthen lamp for Lord Yama, one should start dhanwantari pooja in your pooja room. Lord Dhanwantari is diety of the Ayurveda, form of Lord Vishnu, as he has emerged on this day so he should be worshipped in Dhanteras. Give bathing and anointing the idol of Lord Dhanwantari with vermillion, nine varieties of grains are offered to the Lord.

1. Sit in your pooja room.
2. Recite Dhanwantari Mantra at least 108 times.
Dhanwantari mantra is : “Om Dhan Dhanvantaraye Namah”
 “ॐ धं धन्वन्तरये नमः“.
or you can Recite below-mentioned mantra

“Om Namo Bhagavate Maha Sudharshana Vasudevaya Dhanvantaraye; Amrutha Kalasa Hasthaaya Sarva Bhaya Vinasaya Sarva amaya Nivaranaya Thri Lokya Pathaye Thri Lokya Nidhaye Sri Maha Vishnu Swarupa Sri Dhanvantri Swarupa Sri Sri Sri Aoushata Chakra Narayana Swaha”

We pray to God, who is Sudharshana Vasudeva Dhanvantri. He holds the kalasha full of nectar of immortality. Lord Dhanvantri removes all the fears and diseases. He is the well-wisher and preserver of the three worlds. Like Lord Vishnu, Dhanvantri is empowered to heal our souls. We bow to the Lord of Ayurveda.
After the end of recitation, Say,

“O Lord Dhanwantari! I offer this recitation in your lotus feet. Please give us good health.”

Step 3: Ganesh, Lakshmi and Kubera Pooja on Dhanteras

After Dhanwantari pooja one must do panchopchar pooja of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi with Kubera. In the evening, all family members should gather and start the prayer. Before Starting pooja give him a bath and anoint him with sandal paste. A red cloth is offered to the Lord and then fresh flowers are showered on the idol of Lord Ganesha. Devotees can also chant the mantra and take his blessings before starting the rituals of Dhanteras.

Ganesh Panchopchar puja is as follows:
1.Show earthen lamp to him.
2.Offer dhoop to him.
3.Offer scent to Lord Ganesha.
4.Offer flowers in his lotus feet.
5.Offer sweets (naivedya) to Lord Ganesh.
Chant the following mantra:

वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ ।

निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा ॥

Vakra-Tunndda Maha-Kaaya Suurya-Kotti Samaprabha |

Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva-Kaaryessu Sarvadaa ||

(I pray to Sri Ganesha) Who has a Curved Trunk, Large Body, and Who has the Brilliance of a Million Suns, O Lord, Please make all my Works Free of Obstacles, Always.

Now Worship Lord Kuber after the Ganesh Pooja as follows:

Lord Kuber should be offered flowers, incense, fruits and sweets, and diya and after that chant the following mantra:

“Om Yakshyaya Kuberaya Vaishravanaaya Dhanadhanyadi Padayeh
Dhana-Dhanya Samreeddhing Me Dehi Dapaya Swaha”

Kubera, the lord of yakshas, bless us with wealth and prosperity.

Now, worship Goddess Lakshmi in Sthir Kaal in Vrishabha Kaal @19:21 to 21:14

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

In Dhanteras, During the Pradosh Kaal, which is the time after sunset and lasts for about two and a half hours, Goddess Lakshmi is used to worshipped on Dhanteras. Before starting this pooja ritual, one should take a piece of new cloth, spread with a handful of grains in the middle of the cloth. The cloth should be spread on a raised platform. A kalash half filled with water (mixed with Gangajal), betel nut, a flower, a coin and some rice grains is also kept together.

One can also keep mango leaves in the kalash. According to the rituals, a lotus is drawn with Haldi (turmeric) over the grains and the idol of Goddess Lakshmi is kept over the grains. Light a lamp, offer flowers, haldi, Vermillion to the Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha and to the kalash then chant the below-mentioned mantra:

“Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Praseed Praseed Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Mahalakshmaye Namaha”

After this, take a plate and bathe the idol of Lakshmi with panchamrit (mixture of milk, curd, ghee, butter and honey).

This is followed by offering the Goddess sandal paste, saffron paste, ittar (perfume), vermillion, haldi, gulal and abeer.
Later Close your hands and worship Goddess for the success, prosperity, happiness, and well-being!

Past_Life_Analysis Caselets: “The strangle hold of mind”

“The strangle hold of mind”

by Vishal Sood

Raghu, a 35 year old man from a city of Punjab, facing problems in various facets of his life. He approached to discuss his case for the work related issues he was facing and he was trying to settle himself in various professions but nothing worked for him and he could not settle anywhere. The most peculiar was his complaint for himself that whatever he does, he could not sustain for more than few months and then, again he would begin to look for something else. Sudden rushes of fear was the most common.

Taking out his past life through astrology, the reflections were more upon his home affairs and his behavioral patterns towards his family and associates. While in his past birth, born as a male, he belonged to a financially weak family but yet a family with the background of occultism and religious approach. His father being into the occult practices; used to heal people for their various physical issues. He too learned the trade from his father but being financially weak, he used to fear people as well as he threatened people for his monetary gains; which created fears among people by using his practice to earn more and more.

The way people were feared because of his work and gains, the psychological impression which people brooded over for long and long because of being cautious about their lives; the same fear was, what Raghu was facing in this birth related to his work. The bigger blessing he carried was being born in a financially rich family with greater cultural values but the biggest challenge of his birth was to overcome his fears related to failures in the work life. This is how the karmic distortions and deceit which one poses other, follow him as well in the consecutive birth in order to learn through the impressions and emotions.

Past_Life_Analysis: Caselet 2

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Astrology gives the clear insights not only about the upcoming situations and milestones but also, it helps one find out the cause of the major areas of actions in ones lifetime.

Sakshi, from Ambala; living in US, discussed her case, almost a year back, where she reported about her issues with her husband; Akshay being overly possessive about her. Although, she had a very successful marriage, of 15 years, with him but still Akshay’s overly concerned nature was becoming an obstacle in her life, where she was finding it difficult to step out of her house, as
Akash would give plenty of security reasons to her for not going out of the house and this was becoming suffocating for her as she was already in the traps of opinions to create a highly enigmatic and challenging image of the outside world.

And, she wanted to know the reasons from her past life analysis, about Akshay’s such nature towards her. Upon exploring the past life analysis through her complete astrological birth journey, it was lucis to find out why was she posed with such situational reflections I’m her current life. She, being born in an army family, was more keen to work because of her influx of martian energies in the past life behavior. So, on the repetitive plea and compulsion of her parents, she got married to a guy and later on she left him because of her own freedom and this was very clear miasmic karmic distortion, reflecting in her past birth chart.

Every action reflects in our life, when we take any action without considering its look out for others in our life and it creates distortion in their life, it is bound to reflect back in our lifetime, which we have to face as an emotional lesson.

Past Life Birth Analysis gives us a clear picture about the various challenges that we are posed in our current lifetime, as it’s the time tracking which works on the time scale to maintain the balance.Much More Coming Up Next!!

Astro Climatological study – Impact of Planetary Movements over Changing trend in Climatology in India

Extreme weather & Climatic changes occurring in India and across the globe

It has been seen Whenever Sun passes over Saturn and Mercury with close conjunction or within close orbital distance of 3.20 to 6.40 it usually create long lasting stagnant Pressure in winters with observation of much colder and denser than normal season. This has been clearly said by Dr B.V Raman in “Astrology in Predicting weather and Earthquakes”. Dr Raman was much favouring in studying deeply all the patterns emerging in the solar regions for most of the climatic changes within a month as they are directly or indirectly linked with weather, astro-meteorological and seismological changes. Dr Raman explained clearly, Slow moving planets like Jupiter and Saturn have telling influence on weather changes for much longer periods and fast moving planet like Mercury and Moon have major influences on at sudden dynamically changes occurring in weather and
environment for shorter period of time. With Slow moving planet like Saturn and Jupiter it has been seen either there will be gradual growth in Solar activities within period of increase in orbital distance or degrees in sun or there will be complete instability in weather trends occurring during seasonal changes i.e from Summer to winter or from winter to summer and impact has been seen for much longer period. It usually gives slow paced dramatic climatic changes over longer period of time not easily notable in days and many a time it takes month to feel the damp changes in season. This has been true to the climatic changes occurred after 17th of November 2015, when both the Sun and the Mercury were ruling earlier degrees in sign of Scorpio gives a complete change in the trend of weather in india.

With the closer influence of Sun and Mercury in transiting states over Scorpio,a cold Windy Spells started in south eastern coastal regions of India (i.e Chennai) in year 2015, falling 2nd to Virgo (Where Rahu, Venus and Mars were closely transited in the sign ruling southern part of India) totally sank Chennai city in 24 hours with highest rainfall around 246.5 mm rainfall within 15th to 17th of November 2015 which breaks the record of November 2005.This clearly shows Sun and Mercury movement have telling influence in increasing depth of lower and higher pressure system around coastal areas and bringing change in wind pattern according to seasonal changes. This clearly states Dr B.V Raman Observation on planetary movements and their impact on weather fluctuations mostly falls true in most of the cases.

This i also had explained in my last short article that i posted on 5th of November 2015 where I had clearly mentioned as soon as there will be a close alignment trigger in Uttraphalguni Nakashtra, Places those are close to Bay of Bengal may face cyclic storm and there will be greater chances of increase in number of seismic activities around the globe lying closer to South-Eastern regions and there will be dramatic changes in weather over those are lying closer to Himalayan ranges in north-east of India. This has found been true and Soon after 5th of November  2015, Cyclone-Roanu made landfall in Chennai and maximum number of earthquakes experienced in year 2015 with higher magnitudes (of mostly around 6 to 7.0) and experienced sudden flow of snowfall in higher altitudes of north of India.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

If we look out at reason for why Heavy downpour and flood situation came in picture in Chennai. It was quiet clear, North Node (Rahu) and Mars were closely conjugated with the Venus within closer degree and difference of 4:15 to 4:29 in Uttraphalguni, this clearly states very tense situation till mars will be under the grip of North node in a close orbital distance of 1 degree.

Mars Close alignment with North node usually brings thunderstorms, heavy lighting, Damage to ships near oceans and coastal areas. Moreover, during that time Moon was closely moving over Virgo-Libra transitions phase in Swati nakashtra behind the sun (Krishna Paksha phase). If we look out Bhagwad Puraan for reference, Venus is considered as planet of Causing good rainfall but if fall under Malefic planets like nodes, rainfall can take shape of long lasting downpour for much longer period of time. This clearly states malefic planets those are in leading degrees in conjunctions had major role play in triggering mundane events drastically.

If we look out at last solar movement of Sun in sign of Scorpio with Mercury and Saturn, there will be a complete major shift over in winter season with influencing role of Sun over Sign of Scorpio until and unless it leads degree. Although Close conjunction of Sun and Mercury usually brings a blizzard of cold waves in places those are under the sign and nakashtras of transits.

Interesting point to notice that around 27th and 28th of November 2015 sun was in leading role in degrees creating planetary war with the Saturn, that clearly suggests vibrating weather with much variation of temperatures in a day i.e might be three complete changes within a day in weather condition. Days will be controlled and balanced state having not much colder but nights will be total opposite to days. This clearly suggests that there will be dynamic weather changes in November month around the globe in India, Mostly in Northern and western regions of India.

But situation will change after 29th of November 2015 when Saturn and Sun will be aligned in same degrees in sign of Scorpio, suggesting time to open almiras for sweaters and jackets.

Exactly This situation came true when transit of Sun over Scorpio sign triggered with Saturn, strangely as expected after 3rd of December 2015 when sun transited over Jyestha nakashtra huge downfall in temperature been noted by meteorologist in across the North-western region.

Further exactly When Moon joined over this conjunction period after 10th, 11th and 12th of December 2015 massive turnover in temperatures has been noticed over higher altitudes of India with fall in temperature around about 0 degree in Ladakh and higher regions of Kashmir and heavy rainfall in other northern regions of India.

It is hereby to notice that situation wasn’t be much satisfying for further days left in months, Major changes in fall of temperature noticed including cities/states of J&K, Sirsa, Haryana, Sonipat,Rohtak, Ambala, ganaganagar, alwar, bharatpur, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Himachal, Western Delhi region, Jaipur, Ajmer, ahmedabad etc till 16th of December 2015 and further there was much long lasting slow paced blizzard cold wave occured after 17th of December till 26th of December 2015 and again major downfall in temperature noticed in mentioned cities and states around these period.

Later after 27th of December 2015 much colder windy spell spreaded over North of India, from 5th of January onward up to 11th of January 2016 – there was complete changes noticed in trend in winter season in Majorly all Northern regions of India including Northern America too. This clearly shows whole globe might see sudden change in trend in winter around this period of time.

Rest wheel of time revealed much during January, February and March 2016, and  inyear 2017 period around the globe world will see two Major eclipse within 15 day of gap. Impact of this total solar eclipse will give devastating results around 2017, we can only experience and wait – A Major change in global climatic trend with an increasing amount of Seismic activities could be observed by a climatologist in coming years.

The Case Study of Arcturus Star (The Swati Nakashtra)

What are Stars – Scientific and Astronomical Analysis of Stars?

Stars are gigantic balls of gas, mostly hydrogen gas. There is so much gas and other material that the gravity of this huge gas-ball holds everything together. There is so much gravity that the gas becomes very dense and hot.Our own sun is a star. Fortunately, we are far enough away from it that the gravity of the gas can’t pull us in. It would be rather an unpleasant inside of a star.

The gravity is strong enough that it squeezes the gas together so tight that nuclear fusion occurs. That means that the nuclei (centers) of the atoms get stuck together and ‘fuse’. This releases a lot of energy and causes the stars to heat up. The heat works its way from the inside of the star to the surface and then radiates into space. So what we see of stars is the energy released from the nuclear reactions inside their cores and then radiated from the surface. Since most stars are VERY far away, the light takes anywhere from a few years to millions of years to reach us. So the starlight that we see is very old indeed.

There are many different kinds of stars. They come in many sizes and colors. Some stars even orbit around each other. We call these binary stars. If you have any more questions about stars, please ask us to tell you more.

The Arcturus (Swati Nakashtra)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Arcturus (Swati Nakashtra), a red giant, looks orange to the eye. It’s the brightest star in the northern half of Earth’s sky dome. Arcturus is especially noteworthy for its large proper motion or sideways motion across our sky. Only Alpha Centauri – our sun’s nearest neighbor among the stars – has a higher proper motion among the first-magnitude or bright stars in the stellar neighborhood.

It is a classic orange class K (K1) giant star with a precisely defined surface temperature of 4290 degrees Kelvin. To the eye, it shines 113 times more brightly than our Sun.

Its lower temperature, however, causes it to radiate considerable energy in the infrared. When this infrared radiation is taken into account, Arcturus actually shines almost twice as brightly, releasing 215 times more radiation than our Sun, from which we find a diameter 26 times solar, about a quarter the size of Mercury’s orbit. Arcturus is close and large enough so that its angular diameter of 0.0210 seconds of the arc can easily be measured, leading to a very similar direct determination of 25 times the solar dimension and providing nice confirmation of stellar parameters. Arcturus has a velocity relative to the Sun that is higher than other bright stars. Compared with the set of surrounding stars, which orbit the Galaxy on more or less circular orbits, it falls behind by about 100 kilometers per second (as do several others of the “Arcturus Group”).

The lagging movement has long suggested that the star comes from an older population of the Galaxy. Consistently, it is somewhat deficient in metals, having only about 20 percent as much iron relative to hydrogen as found in the Sun. A more intriguing suggestion is that the star actually comes to us from a small galaxy that merged with ours some 5 to 8 billion years ago. As a giant, weighing in at around 1.5 times the mass of the Sun, it has ceased the fusion of hydrogen in its core. Though it is somewhat brighter than we would expect for a stable helium fusing star, helium fusion to carbon has probably already begun. Such stars are not expected to have a magnetic activity like the Sun, but very weak X-ray emission suggests that Arcturus indeed is magnetically active and has a hard-to-observe “buried corona.”

Arcturus is the brightest star in the northern celestial hemisphere With a visual magnitude of −0.04, it is the fourth brightest star in the night sky, after −1.46 magnitude Sirius (Sanskrit it is known as Mrgavyadha “deer hunter”, or Lubdhaka “hunter”, the star represents Rudra (Shiva)), −0.86 magnitude Canopus (In Sanskrit it is known as ” Agastya ” – The sage ), and −0.27 magnitude Alpha Centauri (Found in the Anuradha Nakashtra in Scorpio Sign, The closest Star to our Solar system) . It is a relatively close star at only 36.7 light-years from Earth, and, together with Vega (The Pole Star – Dhruv Tara) and Sirius, one of the most luminous stars in the Sun’s neighborhood.

Arcturus is a type K0 III orange giant star, with an absolute magnitude of −0.30. It has likely exhausted its hydrogen from its core and is currently in its active hydrogen shell burning phase. It will continue to expand before entering horizontal branch stage of its life cycle.

This is One of most pious Nakashtra Associated with the abode of Goddess Saraswati ruled by the Deity – ” Vayu “” the wind ” Varun Dev – one of 5th Elemental God ruling lower Earthy elements. One of Most Talented Nakashtra having Blessed from Goddess Saraswati – Shine like its Deep Brightness light like a pole star – Native born in this nakashtra will be Well learned, Talented and Knowledgeable in every art concerned with Maa Saraswati – Like Material, Philosophical, Spiritual, Art, Music and Entertainment.

Its one of an Independent Nature Nakashtra rising Away form both Libra and Scorpio Sign, because of this native born in this nakshtras are more likely Independent in nature, like to shine Independently in later age. Because of Ruling Nakashtra of North Node – Natives born in this are Constant Seeker of Knowledgeable sciences including all form of Arts and talent related with material (5th House) and non material(9th House) studies and always want to gain more and more Universal Knowledge.
Because of tendency toward Slow learning nature – Saturn is most exalted in this nakashtra and usually shines at later Age around 36.
Because Of Huge Mass and Strong gravity pull and closest distance of this star any Slow moving Planet transit on this star have strong impact on earth atmospheres and Weathers conditions. That’s why we see this star for Rainfall from the ancient time.

The Brightest star in Sky – Lubdhak ( The Dog Star) in Hindu Mythology

The Brightest star in Sky – Lubdhak in Hindu Mythology and Sirius (HIP 32349) in Modern Astronomy

“Our SUN is one ordinary star. It is one among the millions and billions of stars present in our Milky way, or ‘Galaxy’, and it is only, 1500 Lakhs Kilometres away, and hence, they appear like Stars, to us. We can view only 6000 stars, and that too, through the telescope.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

In India, the star is sometimes known as Svana, the dog of Prince Yudhistira, who set out of a long journey to find the kingdom of heaven with his four brothers. The journey was a difficult one and, one by one, the brothers abandoned the search. When Yudhistira reached the gates of heaven, Lord Indra welcomed him, but would not let Svana enter. The prince told him that he himself would not enter if his faithful servant was denied entrance. This is what the Lord wanted to hear, and he then allowed them both through the gates.

In Sanskrit, this star is known as Mrgavyadha, or “deer hunter,” representing Rudra (Shiva), or as Lubdhaka, meaning “hunter.”
Amongst them, ‘Siriyas’ or ‘LUBDHAK’ (Lubdhak) star (which is known as ‘DOG STAR’ also), is the brightest, and it is one Light – year away. The rays of Light, which travel 3 00 000 Km. per second, reach 10 000 000 000 000 Kilo-metres, in one year. ‘Siriyas’ has one co-star, which is known as ‘Siriyas-B’ too, which can be seen, without the telescope also.

RIGVEDA is ‘LUBDHAK’, Yajurveda is ‘CANOPUS’, Sam Veda is “Alpha Settory”, and ATHARVA. is ‘DEBEN’ (Deben)Sirius is a white main-sequence star in the constellation Canis Major. Sirius is located in the constellation Canis Major – also known as the Big Dog – and is therefore known as the “dog star”. Many of ancient occult researchers believe that Sirius is the Mystery star that actually controls the sun spiritual energy and among there is a famous saying “the sun is behind the sun” and, therefore, Sirius is actually acting as the true source of our sun’s potency.

According to the many of ancient belief sun’s warmth keeps the physical world alive and same way Sirius is considered as the Spiritual star that keeps the spiritual world alive. It is acting as shining star in the East, the spiritual light star, whereas the sun illuminates the physical world, Sirius illuminates the Spiritual world which is considered to be a grand illusion.

Many of an occult researchers have believes that the Great Pyramid of Giza was built in perfect alignment with this stars and the light coming from this stars said to be used in many of ceremonies in ancient Egypt.

One of The famous Egyptian calendar systems was based on the rising of Sirius star in sky just before the annual flooding of the Nile during summer. Even The star’s celestial movement was also revered by many of ancient Greeks, Indians, Sumerians, Babylonians and other civilizations too.

In Ancient Egypt system, Sirius considered as the most sacred star in the sky and said to be known for the foundation of the Egyptians’ religious system.

It is over twenty times brighter than our sun and is twice as massive. At 8.6 light years away, it is the brightest star in the Earth’s sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of -1.44. Sirius is a component of a multiple-star system. The iron abundance of Sirius is +0.36 (229.1% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 17.6 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 22,900 and 33,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy.

Sirius can be seen from any location on Earth south of 73°N. However, from locations that are further to the north, but south of 73°N, the star doesn’t rise very high above the horizon. For observers south of 73°S, Sirius is circumpolar: it never sets below the horizon.

Sky position: RA 6h 45.2m, Dec -16° 42.6′

Fundamentals of Vedic Astrology 2: Understanding Drishti Bheda: Rashi, Graha and Bhava

Written by Shubham Alock

Preamble – A few days back Shri Sunny Jain posted a question in a Facebook Group about aspects of the planet. Where he asked to suppose a planet is exalted. His aspect on a 7th house will be an exalted aspect, debilitated aspect or his effect will be according to beneficence or maleficence of planets.

My answer was only planets can become exalted or debilitated not their aspects. which means effects of aspects will be according to maleficence and beneficence of planets. [Will be dealt extensively of course]

There Shri Deepak Panchal Vishwakarma said to differentiate between Rashi Drishti, Graha Drishti, and Bhava Drishti.
Because it is to be taught in my Jyotish Prarambha course. I told that I will write a separate article on this.

This is that article.

Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra: There are many editions of this book, 10 I have in my library. 4 of them are original [written by authors] rest 6 just copied and paste from one book to another resulting in a new book.

4 Basic editions are by Shri Tarkachandra Shastri, Pandit Ganesh Dutt Pathak, Acharya Sitaram Jha and Pandit Devchandra Jha.
Shri Tarkachandra Shastri says he found this manuscript in the library of a king who is said to have most authentic manuscripts. That edition consists of maximum shlokas but chapters are less.

Pandit Ganesh Dutt Pathak gave no reference on how he found the book.

Acharya Sitaram Jha made a contradictory statement when in starting he said he got this manuscript from Pandit Jeevnath Jha and copied the whole manuscript by his hand and published whereas in end he writes he collected this and published after proof-reading and correcting the manuscript.

Pandit Devchandra Jha – mentions that he got this manuscript from various Pandit’s of rural area and collected all of them and after proofreading and correcting them. Published his edition.

Keep in mind this information which will be useful later. Except for Tarkachandra Shastri edition, all editions have  98-99-100 chapters. But the number of shloka’s are maximum in Tarkachandra Shatri edition.

When to refer to Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra: Many people think BPHS [Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra] to be gospel book of astrology authored by sage parashara.

But one must keep in mind that it is in form of conversation between Sage Parashara and Maitreya which means it was not written by Parashara himself. [See Jaimini Sutras is written by Jaimini Itself as it doesn’t contain narrative verses]  It was written by someone else. That too not at that time but at later times. Mostly between 1400-1500’s [I am taking about BPHS available now]

Mihira also mentions BPHS in his Brihat Jataka and mentions that it is large and extensive hence he is producing a condensed version of it.

Then why he left many things like Graha Avasta [Many kinds are given in BPHS]. When one reads “Jataka Narayaneeyam and Yogavali Khandam” [ A superb book on Traditional Astrology and its secrets] one finds the author has mentioned parashara have dealt mainly with Raajyoga and Bhavaphala and have left Balarishta and Ayuryogas and only dealt with them in a condensed manner.

But, now available BPHS deals extensively with them. This leads us to conclude that BPHS was never written. But was memorized in traditions [It was done with every Shastra of Hindu’s] someone may have written it before Mihira’s time which Mihira saw. but mainly it was a book which was memorized and not written.

After invasion people saw their knowledge being lost hence some of those traditions complied BPHS in written form. The real number of Shloka, Chapter, Index is not known to us. BPHS available nowadays is a result of greed of translators and their own superimposition of limited understanding of Jyotisha along with their ignorance of traditions and their orthodoxy over words of sages [will be seen in “Graha Drishti]

One will do well to go through article of “Shri Shyamsundara Dasa” “On the authenticity of the (Modern) Brhat Parashata Hora Shastra

My advice is if you are to read BPHS Read all available versions one by one. Don’t take any words as said by sage until you have read all editions and when you have read. try before you accept it as sage’s word. When you find contradiction in opinion between principles of Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and other classics of astrology stick to other classics until you are very sure of BPHS’s principles [After rigorous testing]

For an example regarding AshtakaVaraga there are two opinions one is of Mihira and other of Parashara. [Will be covered in course] people who have been very successful in using Ashtakavarga have used and tied to Mihira’s method and not of Parashara’s.

Rashi Drishti

Well exposed without any confusion. The word used is Rashi aspect sign in front of them and two adjacent Rashi. It have to be practised on South Indian Horoscope. Adjacent Rashi means Rashi in 4-10 to Rashi in front. Many scholars have misinterpreted that adjacent “Parshbhave” means the sign juxtapose and shloka means Rashi does not aspect sign juxtapose. But this is incorrect. Why, It will be shown in our Jaimini Article. [Here, it will make the article way too long] One can refer to my article on Sangyan Tattwa for more information.

Movable sign  aspect the sign in 8th to them and their Parshava sign which is sign in 11th and 5th.

Fixed sign aspect the sign in 6th to them and their Parshava sign which is sign in 3rd and 9th.

Movable sign aspect the sign in 7th to them and their Parshava sign which is 4th and 10th.

In Short. Movable sign aspect all fixed sign except the one in 2nd to him, Fixed sign aspect all movable sign except the one in 12th to him, Dual sign aspects all other dual signs.

Refer the table given below.

Aspect Table

Rashi Frontal Sign Other Signs under Aspect
Aries Scorpio Aquarius and Leo
Taurus Libra Cancer and Capricorn
Gemini Virgo Sagittarius and Pisces
Cancer Aquarius Scorpio and Taurus
Leo Capricorn Libra and Aries
Virgo Gemini Pisces and Sagittarius
Libra Taurus Aquarius and Leo
Scorpio Aries Capricorn and Cancer
Sagittarius Pisces Gemini and Virgo
Capricorn Leo Taurus and Scorpio
Aquairus Cancer Aries and Libra
Pisces Sagittarius Virgo and Gemini

Planet’s placed in the sign also aspect with Rashi Drishti.

Special with Rashi Drishti – Rashi Drishti is always full [Other’s are not – will be seen in next sections] People are confused about aspect of planet’s like Ketu or Upagraha like Mrityu or Aprakash Graha like Dhooma. Any thing in Rashi aspect with Rashi drishti. This is to say if you need to check aspect of Gulika see Rashi drishti of the Rashi where Gulika is placed and you will find aspect of Gulika

When one will read Jaimini one will find that Jaimini gave extreme importance to Rashi Drishti because even Arudha in a Bhava will aspect with Rashi Drishti only. That is to say anything in Rashi will aspect with Rashi Drishti.

It is mentioned that “Brahma” [Creator] told about Rashi Drishti, Which means any affliction arising out of Rashi Drishti shows a basic defect in creation or manifestation. Also how to approach this subject as there can be four differentiations here, aspect by malefic but who is a friend of a lord of the sign, aspect by malefic who is inimical to lord of sign.  the aspect of benefic inimical to Lord of sign, aspect of benefic friendly to lord of sign. All this will be explored in-depth in our course.

Graha Drishti

Here you will see when people superimpose their own understanding in name of editing and proof-reading what happens.

Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra clearly states that every planet have 1/4th aspect on 3-10 Houses from itself [It uses bhava which means house and not Rashi], 2/4th aspect on 5-9 houses from itself. 3/4th on 4-8 houses from itself and 4/4th aspect on 7th house from itself. Saturn, Jupiter and Mars have have special aspect as Saturn aspects 3-10 from itself by full 4/4 aspect, Mars aspect 4-8 from itself by full 4/4 and Jupiter aspects 5-9 fro itself by full 4/4 aspect.

What the sage have intended to say was all planets except Saturn, Jupiter and Mars have a full aspect on 7th house and they Saturn, Jupiter and Mars have a special aspect on these houses as their full aspect and on 7th house, their aspect is not full, but partial.
But both authors with their claim of correcting the manuscript distorted it. But Pandit Ganesh Dutt Pathak and Pandit Tarkachandra Shastri [They never mentioned correcting the manuscripts gave original table of aspects which is as follows.

Graha Drishti

Planet Trine [5-9] Chaturastra [4-8] Saptama [7] Upachaya [3-10]
Saturn 1/4th 2/4th 3/4th Full
Jupiter Full 1/4th 2/4th 3/4th
Mars 3/4th Full 1/4th 2/4th
Others 2/4th 3/4th Full 1/4th

This, as can be seen above was the real method Sage wanted to propagate which was mutilated in name of correcting manuscripts.
One can also see that secret of Nadi Astrology lies here. Suppose two planets are in trine Sun and Moon then Sun cast 2/4th aspect on Moon and Moon cast 2/4th aspect on Moon – Now is it illogical to say in sense that they are in conjunction [Half+Half=Full] Due to this reason while defining Sambandha between planets Mantreshwara in his Phladeepika added Sambandha between Planets in Mutual Kendra and Kona.

Secrets in usage: We know sam-bandha between planets are made by four methods. By being in each other’s sign, By being in mutual aspect, By being aspected by the depositor, by being in same sign [Together] But in practice, we find mutual aspect does not make a strong connection in many cases, Why? the answer to the same is only Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus have a full aspect on 7th to participate in mutual aspect sam-bandha other planets cast partial aspect on 7th house thus yoga may or may not be applicable.

What do I mean by “may and may not” will be defined here?

Suppose few variations.

Jupiter and Mars in 1-7 Jupiter aspect Mars by 2/4th aspect and Mars by 1/4th aspect. it makes only 3/4th aspect. Unable to form Sambandha.

Jupiter and Saturn in 1-7. Jupiter aspect Saturn by 2/4th aspect and Saturn by 3/4th aspect making 5/4 which means a Sambandha.
This way one can clearly see the differences into considerations when we follow true spirit of Sage.

Difference between Graha and Bhava Drishti : Graha Drishti is basically for Sambandha between two Graha, Only when it is full it have to be taken into consideration. Bhava Drishti is sambandha between Bhava and Graha and all types of aspect can be considered here. which differentiates them on extent of their influence on Bhava.

Bhava Drishti

Sitaram Jha and Devchandra Jha edition exposes this in a separate chapter named  “Grah Sphut Drishti Kahtanadhyaya” which can mean that this is only true aspect of planets. Whereas Devdutt Pathak and Tarkachandra Shatri edition exposes this in “Bhav Shad Bal Aadi Varnan Adhyayah” which clearly distinguishes between Graha Drishti and Bhava Drishti. Making clear that Bhava Drishti will take both full and partial aspect into consideration to judge the relationship between Bhava and Graha whereas Graha Drishti is only full between two Graha.

We need to calculate Drishti bala to know about Bhava Shadbala [Will be dealt in separate article] Two methods of calculations are given, I am giving the one given in Tarkachandra Shastri and Devdutt Pathak edition.

Calculations of Bhava Drishti: Aspecting planet is called “Drishta [A]” aspected planet/Bhava is called “Drishya [B]”
Take their longitude “Rashi-Degree-Minute” and A-B = If more than 6 then subtract from 10 Rashi and divide by 2.

If more than 5 then leave Rashi and double Degree and Minute
If more than 4 [But less than 5] then subtract it from 5 and remaining Degree and Minutes will give Drishti/Aspect
If more than 3, Subtract from 4, Divide by 2 and add 30.
If more than 2, Leave Rashi and add 15 in Degrees
If more than 1, leave Rashi and half the degrees. This gives quantum of aspects.

For Saturn, Mars and Jupiter : For Saturn add 45 more in aspect on 3rd and 10th house. For Jupiter add 30 more in aspect on 5th and 9th house. For Mars add 15 more in aspecton 4th and 8th houses.

These calculations can be tiring for beginners hence one is advised to take support of modern day software’s. One such Software is Jagannath Hora which is free to download. [Check settings before usage] In the software open any chart [It is easy to use] Select the option “View” above in File Bar and then choose “Aspect Table with Relationship” Then right click on New Window anywhere over blank space and choose “Full Aspect Value” and then change it to be 100.

Secrets in Usage: Graha Drishti does not take into consideration degrees of planets. In planet in aforesaid Bhava/Rashi [They are same] comes under their aspect irrespective of their degrees. But in Bhava Drshti Degrees of Bhava [Similar to that of Lagna] needs to be taken into consideration. This is the reason why Mantreshwar in his Phala-Deepika have said that planets in any bhava equalling the degrees of Lagna will give the full effect of that bhava and in other places promotionally. This also applies with their aspect. being placed in a bhava is inclusive of aspect on other Bhava.

This is an extensive topic, which can’t be taught in a single article. It has to be taught step by step distinguishing between Rashi and bhava, and their manifestation. Along with difference in Rashi and Graha Dasha. This article will provide an introduction to the subject. This article will be dealt extensively in “Jyotish Prarambha”
